I survived "Dead Woman's Pass" at 4210m high and completed the 46km 4 day Inca Trail to Machu Picchu in one piece! Thanks to my guide #German, "MachuPicchu", the royal retreat of the Inca People in Peru means “Old Mountain” in the Quechua language. The complex was constructed in the 15th century as a place for the emperor to relax. After the Spanish conquest in 1532, jungle growth enveloped the structures and temples. The experience I had, was amazing and I will never forget it. Recommend it to all hikers!
